“Sorry I’m late, Mom. How’s my baby today?”
“Great mood and dry. Mind if I rush to the store before it closes?”
Ellen nodded. “I’ll get Lulu ready.”
“My big girl went potty for grandma today.” Boisterous smooches greeted her.
*
“Back so soon? You look frazzled.”
“What?”
“What’s all this stuff?”
“Ellen, don’t—”
“These aren’t Lulu’s…”
Her mother’s face blanched, then blazed scarlet. My life has begun to regress to that of a child.

Isn’t she gorgeous! I don’t like black on little girls but in this case I thought of half-way between grandma and toddler in training…

When my mom was in hospital at the end, she knew she was going home and I would be changing her Depends. Once she arrived home, she willed herself to depart less than two hours later. THAT was when I realized just how much she did NOT want me changing HER nappies. Too humiliating for her… thanks for a story with a bittersweet twist. Found you at Baroness’ site. Amy

Hi Amy. I know. I never had to and I know people who must wear them but at least Depends make life easier.
