Flash in the Pan – Erratic

“Why do you whisper about me?”

“Am I whispering?”

Noreen peers through thin, lopsided bangs. “Always questions; never answers!”

“Your erratic behaviour…screaming, attacking patients, nurses… I’m worried about you.”

“It’s the meds doc, not me. Kiss me lover-boy and I’ll be good.”

Dr. Snowden flinches, staggers upward and upends his chair. “Orderly, take her back.” He tosses an unsteady hand over his liver spotted scalp and sighs.” Nothing new I can do for your daughter.”

Author: Let's CUT the Crap!

I'm getting a little LONG in the tooth and have things to say about---ouch---AGEing. I believe it's certainly a state of mind but sometimes it's nice to hear that you're NORMAL. I enjoy reading by the truckload. I'm a grandma but I don't feel OLD although I'm not so young anymore. My plan is to stick it out as long as I can on this lovely planet and only will leave it kicking and screaming!

  1. Snowden—The same name as the US secret-document leaker. Hmm, are you listening in on my phone calls? If you are, sorry to bore you… 😉

  3. Dr. Snowden sounds like he’s on the same drugs as his patient. Interesting idea here. 🙂

  4. Erratic behavior? Maybe just play acting to get better drugs! The doc seems stupid, not able to deal with a bit of bad behavior.

    • That doctor, I wanted to slap him. He should retire. Was she playing with him or serious? What a ‘fraidy cat. Every single commenter is trashing the doctor. At last. Something works the way I want. 😉
I sometimes love to not like a character.

  5. Entering the above conversation….I question he’d be good, and I know he wouldn’t stay when I needed him.

  7. Knocking the chair over is so visual–as is the ‘liver-spotted scalp’. Love it.

  9. Sounds so true. And so depressing.
I like the doctor sighing, makes it so human.

  10. Perhaps the doctor can use a little more compassion? 🙂

  11. He could give her a good rogering, I guess. Many males believe that’s a pretty good cure-all, or so they tell me. But that wouldn’t be good bedside manner.
