Check out jfb57 for the rules and http://jfb57.wordpress.com/2014/05/26/100-word-challenge-for-grown-ups-week135/
The prompt is this picture. Only 100 words allowed.
Blind or Stubborn?
“What a rotting mess.” Patrick tosses a stone and watches it skip across the water.
“I see you haven’t lost your touch.” Nora stares down the lake, arms wrapped around her.
He sighs and hurls another rock. “Bad idea.”
“Why? We can do this.” Her hands clench.
“This decaying dock is nothing compared to that cabin.”
“Are you blind or just stubborn?”
“I won’t plunk one silver dime into this dump.” Patrick stomps away.
Nora’s eyes leak salty drips. I’m not selling Daddy’s cottage. I’m not. It’s mine.
“I’m done. Coming?”
She stamps her feet. I’ll find a way.
“Nora!”

Tess another brilliantly written piece. I can see the two of them standing there. Love the phrase ‘Nora’s eyes leak salty drips’.

I love these challenges, writing a story in so few words and you do it brilliantly Tess. I looked at the photo for a few minutes before I read your story, trying to imagine what you might write and I was drawn in immediately as soon as I read your first word. Now I want the complete story please, haha 🙂 Great stuff ❤

Nora should dump Patrick and fix up the cottage, and move into it. So much packed into this 100 words, Tess–character, relationships, history, and plenty of emotion. The story rings true. Great job.
