Due to extenuating circumstances (unexpected family and social obligations: i.e. life in the fast lane), I haven’t had enough time to visit you all more often.

November, I spent writing with furious diligence, while  life around me came to a standstill. Still appointments and family visits continue to take much of my time this month. Off and on holiday entertaining and a visit to the west coast for a sister’s 60th birthday also loom large.

When time permits, I shall flit in and out and can’t wait till my schedule isn’t hampered by all these commitments. You’re always on the edge of my mind. I have not forgotten you and miss you and our daily banter.

I'm getting a little LONG in the tooth and have things to say about---ouch---AGEing. I believe it's certainly a state of mind but sometimes it's nice to hear that you're NORMAL. I enjoy reading by the truckload. I'm a grandma but I don't feel OLD although I'm not so young anymore. My plan is to stick it out as long as I can on this lovely planet and only will leave it kicking and screaming!

  15. I had thought that being retired meant I would be able to everything I wanted to do – silly me should have known that would never be possible – so I completely understand what you’re saying, Tess. Enjoy the West coast! Hope to see you again soon.

    • You are so right, Sylvia. Each year has been busier than the last. I cannot understand how some retirees complain they’re bored. Really?
I look forward to my trip west so soon after my trip east this year.
Happy holidays, Sylvia. May they treat you well and with kindness.

    • Ha ha. Where do I sign up? Thirty-six feel more manageable than 48. Someone suggested 70. Tried to sign up for that one, but all the spots were taken.
Maybe you have better connections. I accept your gift.
      Happy holidays, Noel. ❤ ❤

  22. There’s an Irish song I listen to on Youtube occasionally. At the beginning of the song, actually before it, the singer says “ahhhhhhh family”. I think of that every time I have family obligations and wonderful times ….. enjoy these good things Tess. Though I do miss you. ❤

  34. Tess, although I miss you, I admire you for setting your priorities. I’ve had my share of bites taken out of me this past year and struggled to keep up on all fronts. I’m always worried I won’t know how to catch up. Now with the holidays approaching and so many obligations, not to mention I have 3 weeks to get ready for a 2 month escape to Arizona, I barely have time to breathe. Either my writing suffers or my social media. But I’m struggling to keep on all fronts. I’m telling you this because before this year ends, I’m going to learn to take a page out of your book, so to speak. I’m going to have to disappear for a bit until I get settled in Arizona and then I shall start fresh. I can’t worry about what I’ve missed. That’s the hardest part for me, afraid of missing something, or being forgotten, lol. But I’m going to have to take the plunge, so don’t count me out either. 🙂 And in case I don’t see you around before January, I wish you and yours a very happy holiday season. ❤

    • I admire you for what you have accomplished in such a short time, writing-wise, as well as keeping on top of your blog and guest spots and interviews…
I’ve been in and out so much this month, I can’t get anything done. In the New Year I plan to flip my day in reverse to before. I cannot stop blogging–too many wonderful friends to miss–mornings will be mine and blogging will be in the latter part of the day. I’m walking with a friend a couple times a week and do the bookstore Wednesdays, which eat up so much of my day.

Anyway, good luck getting ready. Hope you have an excellent time in Arizona, Happy Holidays, Debby. ❤

      • Thanks so much Tess. I hope your reverse order helps. I sometimes check some comments in the morning, but do all my blog reading at night, as I get lost in time with them and can’t afford that during the day. Wishing you happiness and health in this holiday season and always. ❤

  41. Hi Tess!
What a delight it was seeing you at my site yesterday. Sorry I didn’t come to thank you for the visit sooner. I had oral surgery Monday and have been sort of out of it ever since. I’m glad you liked my new post about overcoming writer’s block.
Happy holidays to you. Looking forward to seeing you in the new year.
