Hot Flash – Return

“Before you leave, I must return these.”

“What is this, Madame?”

“Love letters to your Maman.”

“Who wrote them?”

“They are from your Papa.”

“I know nothing of him.”

“You will know soon.”

“Who was it? Tell me.”

Madame grit her teeth. “He is Lord of this Manor.”

“Your husband?”

The word limit for Return is 50 words. I used all 50.

The Summer Quarter finishes the end of this month. For the rules to join the next quarter of Flash in the Pan, check out:

Author: Let's CUT the Crap!

I'm getting a little LONG in the tooth and have things to say about---ouch---AGEing. I believe it's certainly a state of mind but sometimes it's nice to hear that you're NORMAL. I enjoy reading by the truckload. I'm a grandma but I don't feel OLD although I'm not so young anymore. My plan is to stick it out as long as I can on this lovely planet and only will leave it kicking and screaming!

  1. Really really good, Tess! I am into this one and want more. 🙂

  2. Oh my! I agree with Paulette, a little more please. 😉

  3. I love it. I’m tempted to try my hand at this flash creating, but it’s hard for me to say anything in 50 words!

  4. I’m with nancyrae4, and admire your ability to concisely capture a drama that leaves the reader needing more!

  5. Page one, Tess, beautifully done. There’s a novel packed into that little gem. Have you ever thought of taking one of these story seeds and just keeping on going?

  6. Yes Tess, this is one that could really go much further – although it stands beautifully as a flash.

  7. This is a nice one Tess but you have omitted to use the word ‘Return’ within the script, it’s okay though as I have done this exact same thing. Have a lovely Thursday my sweet friend and please don’t take this comment as being rude, as this is definitely not my intention.

  8. Ooh, Tess! And THEN what happened? A wonderful tease…

  9. That had to have been a very awkward conversation!

  10. Love the fast pace because we don’t get a chance to guess the surprise before it really happens. Nice job.

  11. This is an interesting one Tess, secrets! I like it.

  12. Ok, I’m hooked, so what’s next?:)

  13. This may well be your best yet, Tess. I love it.
