Important information. Thanks for sharing it. I have Word copies of all my posts, but this looks like a better way to back things up.

I don’t know how well I did this, but it was super easy. If not done exactly right, because I noticed I have a bunch of gobbledty gook that copied, at least I have the full text. I think I can go back to at least have easy access to all of my posts if need to. That’s what I get for being lazy about having copies of all of my posts. I need to do that from here on out.

How long did it take to do? I haven’t done it yet. Yesterday was my down day to read and by golly I wasn’t going to let anything get in my way. 😦

I’d never thought of backing things up like this. I just generally write my posts in Word and then copy them over. Still, I’ll give it a go. Always good to learn something new.

I live in fear of this happening, or a hacker exploding my site. I have an excellent host who provides free back-ups and recovery (well, free because I pay him every month). My WP.COM sites–yikes.

It took me about ten minutes. (I was lucky that the entire contents of my blog was under 15 MB).

Sounds good. I’m worried about all the pictures taking up lots and lots of MB. Oh well. Must just get TO it. Thanks for getting back with your response, Mike. I appreciate it. 😛

Even if you pics are huge, it shouldn’t take too much extra time. The instructions, I’m delighted to report, were quite easy to follow.

Does this work for wordpress.com bloggers using templates? I thought this was only appropriate for wordpress.org bloggers.

I talked to WordPress today and they told me that everything is backed up on their end. However they shared the similar instructions if you wanted your own back up.

So this is your OWN backup. I had a sneaking suspicion they might have a general backup. Thanks, Sue. {{ ❤ }}

I have my files backed up online at Just Cloud. Anymore, the files I want to keep track of (including my posts) are either going straight to One Drive or Google Drive.

One of my subscribers contacted WP and was told blogs are automatically backed up. I guess this is if you want your own files. (?)

😀 😀 Really? I took that the day of my granddaughter’s 11th birthday in January because I’d promised myself I’d get a new photo in the New Year.
Another blogger contacted WP to check this info out. They do an automatic backup. This is for your own copy in the cloud or wherever you want. I haven’t done it yet because I’m not sure if all the photos on my blog won’t make these files and folders gargantuan. 🙂
